Around 1983/84 for me. Celtic v Hearts, got the train to Carntyne walked the rest and got a lift over the turnstyles into the Jungle. I was 11 at the time and my parents didnt even know till i got home.

Like an 11 year old from Airdrie could do that now ninja.gif

For me it's my Granda taking me to the games. We used to stand by the pylon in the Celtic end, main stand side.

I still park in the same place.

getting the 62 bus along the gallowgate to my first game!

1987 testimonial match for davie provan against forrest!

0-3 if i remember correctly, celtic end number 5 section right in the middle. kept going same spot after that..unless i could get in the jungle which was just fkn great fun. loved slagging the commentators as they walked the gang plank in the centre of the stand! loved the fact when celtic scored your feet wouldn't such the ground and you would end up at the front of stadium!

dangerous as fuck nowadays though dry.gif

My Granda took me to the Jock Stein testimonial in 1978, lifted over the turnstyle, sat in the main stand just slightly right of the dugout in the front row... I have absolutely no idea how he got tickets because my family never went to the games... too poor!
Anyway, King Kenny came back to CP and paraded the European cup at half-time, he played a half each for us and Liverpool, and I think he scored for them in a 3-2 win!?!

Amazing atmosphere for a 10 year old to savour!!! wub.gif

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

In the 50s canny mind the year, Celtic 4-1 against East Fife at Celtic Park.
John McPhail scored all four goals one I think was a penalty, and I believe Bobby Collins was involved in all four goals?
Legs Fleming played for East Fife then!
