Can't believe it hasn't happened sooner!

Apparently if he rejects their severance package there's nothing the board can do but allow him to continue as they can't afford to pay the compensation he would be ordinarily due if they were to sack him. Sad state of affairs when those in charge of such a big club can't even decide who they have at the helm any more.

The whisper is their offereing 3 mill up front, sure his contract says hes entitled to over 10 mill though

I think he will take it. A few other european clubs seem interested and would be silly to stay at a club that isn't going to back you.

His departure was long overdue, was inevitable after last season.

Can't see a new man coming in and turning around the mess that they'll inherit.

Long overdue is a bit of an overstatement. He did well the season before last.

Martin O'Neill is a good shout and I'd take him. Hiddick would be my foreign choice.

With the amount of money he's spent Liverpool should be finishing top 3 every season with realistic ambitions of the title.



Think both are optimistic shouts, I'm not sure Liverpool could afford a 'top' manager, even if they wanted to take the job on.

Roy Hodgson being linked. Mark Hughes too. As well as O'Neill as has been said above.
If i was to chose between O'Neill and Hodgson, it'd be a tough choice, although I would probably have to say O'Neill.
