Buffalo Soldier
Is one of 16 players released from Dundee.

Any takers?

I'd certainly try and sign him up, a promising young centre back. Fits the bill.
billyblue
Yeah he is worth a punt.
Buffalo Soldier
Yes, I'd be looking actively at replacing both Murphy and Bailie now.

Casement and hopefully another young promising centre half should have us well covered.
billyblue
Id give murphy one more year. Release bailie (offer him a coaching role).
Graemerz
Yes no doubt about keeping Casement on. He has stated he likes it at Windsor. We need a centre half, badly. Granted he was a bit rubbish in a match when the entire team was rubbish. Hand him a contract and see if he signs it.
Graemerz
Oh and for the record I would give Bailie another year and release (with a huge thanks, love and memories) Winkie Murphy.

Totally agree

I pray we don't give bailie another year. The guy is a legend but a few decent performances recently shouldn't hide the fact he is done. I'd be happy for him to act as cover but the irish cup final should be his last 'proper' game for the blues.

His performances from the new year onwards have been second to none that Irish Cup Quater final at The Oval and Seaview A couple of weeks ago was top notch organises and keeps us together at the back something anyone else doesnt really do in the absence of Noel great captain should be given another year but not to play as much as he did this year. Also heard Winkys not being offered a new contract because of his criminal record and he knows it himself and is on his way to Seaview couple of Crusaders fans that are involved in the club have heard this numerous times.

D'accord.
Buffalo Soldier
Would let Bailie retire this summer and release Murphy.

Casement to be signed up and hopefully another centre half too.

I like the idea but I'm not so sure its a good idea to release both. A bit of experience could go a long way. I'm not convinced Lindsay is ready to be are most senior defender just yet. Hopefully with a good full season with injuries to a minimum he could be ready. Even if we do sign Casement he's still raw and doesn't quiet know what it takes to play for Linfield yet. Douglas is far too inconsistent to be even considered first choice. BJB seems to be a right back now, I can't see him become a centre half/sweeper now. Even if we signed a centre half or two in the summer no one would have experience like Bailie or Murphy. As I've stated in the thread I think its time one went. I'd keep Bailie and release Murphy.

Agree that we need a bit of experience. Keep murphy, he still has plenty of football in him. But saying dougie 'is far too inconsistent to be even considered first choice' is ridiculous.

Its true, for every two/three good games comes two/three car crash displays usually complete with a "ranch selling" moment.

Id say a lot of his bad games are due to those playing around him.
Buffalo Soldier
Lindsay is comfortably our most underrated player. When Douglas has played alongside him we have a very good record.

They'd definitely be my centre-half partnership.
Buffalo Soldier
Casement has been released by Dundee now.

We'll see what his options are now.
billyblue
I'd give him a contract.
