Barrett or McCabe Id say and probably McCabe because hes only 21.There will be plenty more though as 90% of league is out of contract so more will be announced a good few of Rovers and Bohs ones will be up for grabs too for different reasons
saint4life
We've only got 3 players. Gonna play 2 at the back with Haverty and Gavin then try catch teams out with Ryan Guy's pace up front, new manager has to double as a keeper, this is cost cutting like you've never seen it before, still reckon we'll concede less goals than we did last season! smile.gif
Buffalo Soldier
I guess most will just re-join to other LOI clubs. Not sure if I'd want any of them at Windsor or not.
saint4life
Hang on a minute, what the fuck is Jason Gavin doing on that list? He's one of only 3 players we still have under contract unsure.gif

He's not mentioned on this list either.

Matthew GFC
We need a left winger, so I'd be keeping my eye on those players I mentioned.

Yeah he was supposed to be emigrating to Australia last Summer and then again at the end of the season, but I was talking to a few of the others at the club and they reckon he's not going to Australia anymore.

Flynn and SOC added apparently and Podge gone to Sligo as well, this is becoming a fucken joke some of the players going.
Signed Enda Stevens though shrug.gif

Rumours are that Gerard Doherty, Eddie McCallion and Peter Hutton are very close to signing for the 'real' Derry City!

Pats signed 5 players today.

Lynch, Stewy Byrne and Gary Rogers all re-signed, and then Pender signed from Bray and McAllister signed from Shels. Don't know much about the 2 new lads, but heard McAllister is supposed to be a good player.

We were supposedly looking at McAllister but went for Chambers instead from what I heard.

Pat Flynn and SOC also signed back up again with us
saint4life
Alan Cawley signed for Dundalk, he was fucking shit for us last season anyway, all he done was score one cracker against Sligo.

Nothing on any of the websites yet but heard Bermo has signed for Pats the wanker.

Its definite now, it was confirmed that Bermo signed today. He better play well for us or else find himself a new local to drink in laugh.gif

A few days ago we signed Gareth Coughlan from Bray, Sinnott from Wexford and Cash from Sligo as well. We re-signed Andy Haran as well the same day.
CliftonvilleRovers
Maybe Mahon might be able to sort out his drinking, he has the potential to be a very good player if he can.I wish him the best and hope to see him back in the hoops some day.
Gary Dempsey and Tadgh Purcell also gone to Darlington and Joe Gamble to Hartlepool
Buffalo Soldier
Tommy Stewart and another Derry City player are going on trial at Morecambe.

They are also trying to get their legal people to get them some of the wages that DCFC owe them.

He wasn't great for us. He's supposed to be moving to Austrailia, might be giving up playing football completely.

Will never forget his header against Elfsborg though.

We signed Shane Guthrie from Galway and Alex Williams from Dundalk today.
Both decent signings, especially Williams if he sorts out his attitude.

Should be signing 3 more tomorrow, a keeper (reckon it will be Dan Connor), midfielder (reckon it will be Mulcahy) and a striker (could be Vinny Faherty).

Apparently Ryan Guy might be staying with us until July now as well.

Crowe gone to Fingal

PFAI training camp kicks off

January 19, 2010

More than two dozen players, including several League of Ireland winners, are taking part in the Professional Footballers’ Association of Ireland’s specially-arranged training camp at the AUL Complex in Dublin.

The list of players involved includes Dave Rogers, Richie Baker, Shane Robinson, Jason Gavin and Bobby Ryan, all of whom are the holders of League of Ireland winners’ medals.

Former Bournemouth and Burnley midfielder Garreth O’Connor, who spent last season at St Patrick’s Athletic, and Richie Ryan, a member of Sligo Rovers’ FAI Ford Cup final team, will also be in attendance in Clonshaugh over the coming days and weeks.

Trevor Croly, the former St Patrick’s Athletic and Drogheda United player who has been assistant manager at Pats and Shamrock Rovers, was the coach for the session, with the help of ex-Bohemians and UCD goalkeeper Matt Gregg and former Shelbourne, Middlesbrough, Burnley and Ireland midfielder Alan Moore.

PFAI General Secretary Stephen McGuinness said: ”When we heard that over 90 per cent of our league players would be out of work at the end of the 2009 season, myself and Ollie Cahill discussed what we could do to help our members. We decided to arrange a training camp at this time as managers would still be finalising their squads and there are still a number of players who are seeking employment.

”Last October every player in the league was given an application form to fill in if they wanted their name entered on to our transfer list which is on our website, and to express their interest in attending our training camp. We received a huge response so we organised this training camp.

”The PFAI continues to explore options available to benefit our members. We’ll see how this camp goes and we’ll look to roll out this initiative to other Provinces.

”The first day’s got off to a flying start. Players are committed to this initiative and we have more players coming on board during the week. This is aimed at the player who is determined to get himself in the shop window and signed up by the start of the season. Pre-season training is hard enough when you have a club so this just helps lads who are looking to be prepared when the opportunity of a contract comes along.

”We’ve already received inquiries into the office from managers regarding those players that turned up today; I’d like to see the lads sorted out with employment sooner rather than later and if this camp only lasts for a couple of weeks and all the lads are signed up we have done our job.

”The lads have been afforded the best coaching and medical assistance with Trevor Croly, Alan Moore, Matt Gregg and Albert Byrne. We’d like to thank the AUL and in particular Tony Martin, Mick Behan and Paddy McGrath, and Richard Fahey from the FAI for allowing us use of this top class training facility.”

The list of players taking part (2009 club in brackets):

Mark Salmon (Athlone Town), Neale Fenn, Brian McCarthy (Bohemians), John Flood (Bray Wanderers), Pat Jennings (Derry City), Ian Ryan (Drogheda United), Liam Burns, Dave Rogers, Ger Rowe (Dundalk), Conor Gethins (Finn Harps), Aaron Shanahan, Mick Clarke (Longford Town), David Freeman, Brian Gartland, Paul Whelan (Monaghan United), Shane Robinson (Shamrock Rovers), Richie Baker, Vinnie Whelan, Anto Flood (Shelbourne), Richie Ryan (Sligo Rovers), Jason Gavin, Stephen Maher, Bobby Ryan, Garreth O’Connor, Mark Leech (St Patrick’s Athletic), David Ennis (unattached).

He's past it now anyway.

Gareth O'Connor signed for Drogheda, would've liked to see him stay with us, where are Drogs getting the money from to outbid us anyway? dry.gif

We re-signed Dave Mulcahy from Bray, fucking delighted to have him back, the chaps a legend. Wish he never left in the first place, but it was understandable why he did.

Probably still young but he has been absolutely shit for ages now, 1st division is about his standard.

Craig Walsh is a traiting fucker laugh.gif , he goes to all the Pats matches and all, he ends up finishing 3rd on the Inter thing.

Good to hear he wised up so biggrin.gif

"The FAI today received a request from Shamrock Rovers to register Chris Turner ahead of the 2010 season," read an FAI statement.

"However, the player's contractual situation is disputed by a second club and the FAI will not be in a position to register the player until this issue has been resolved.

"The FAI has today written to the clubs involved seeking a speedy resolution of the matter."

Hilarious how Sligo have been paying someone who hadnt even properly signed for them tbh
saint4life
In todays Star that Ryan Guy signed a new 2 year contract on reduced terms. Fair play to him for taking the pay cut because he didn't have to, while he was still under contract.

Same article also says Kelleher will be putting another million into us this season.
CliftonvilleRovers
Whats this about him losing 150 million the other day in some project, a million is the least of his worries if true laugh.gif

150 million is nothing, it probably just fell out of his wallet laugh.gif

Didn't see the article just heard about it, I'd say its all to do with the Chicago Spire, work stopped on it over a year ago because of the recession and he's been getting sued and all by people he had working on it. Think the cost has gone 150 million over what was expected.

Jaysus

Murray signed and played 2nd half for us last night...another good addition we badly needed a centre half to go alongside Sives

Danny Murphy signing for us, we have half the old Cark team ffs laugh.gif

First time to see the new players Pats have signed last night, was a poor game but happy enough with how they all performed. Mulcahy needs to start though, the team only really got going after he came on.
